The exhibit made its way to Los Angeles where it was displayed coincident with several events including a symposium and book launch, book signing, and screenings of the prize-winning documentary film, “Sir! No Sir!”.
The exhibit was hosted by the USC Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism and presented by Visions and Voices: The Arts and Humanities Initiative. Many thanks to Diane Winston (Communications and Journalism) and William Short (Moorpark College) for their efforts to organize the event.
A symposium and book launch took place on the first day of the exhibit and featured four soldiers and sailors who opposed the war: Susan Schnall, Mike Wong, William Short, and and David Cortright.
A week later a special book signing event was held where John Kent, a Naval Academy graduate, founder of the Concerned Officers Movement (against the war) and a contributor to the companion book, was interviewed by City Councilwoman Kelly Kent about opposition to the war within the Navy. John, William Short and Willa Siedenburg signed copies of the book.
Finally, two screenings of the film, “Sir! No Sir!” were held which featured panel discussions.
