Since it is not possible to bring the full large exhibit to all venues, Bill Short, who took most of the individual portraits in the companion book, created a smaller pop-up exhibit that we brought to New Bedford’s Unitarian Church. The evening was not diminished by the size of the exhibit as dozens of visitors enlivened the evening with a potluck dinner and were able to hear Vietnam-era Navy Lieutenant antiwar activist Susan Schnall, poets Doug Rawlings, Lamont B. Steptoe and David Connolly debut their presentations the night before the full exhibit opened in Boston.
